Wine…..

As we like our wine and we have been lucky enough to try some really lovely wines so far on the trip I thought that you may like to know what they are and have a look and see if you can find them locally. I will update this page with details of the wines that we have tried along the route and a ‘summary’ of our opinion …. Obviously everyones’ taste is different, but if you fancy trying something different it may be worth a look….

Côte Roannaise – Cuvee Tradition 2012 Ambierle Red 6 Full bodied, rich flavour – lovely with strong cheese
Domaine Auchere Sancerre Red 8 A really light red, but full of flavour.
Bodegas Vallarin Cosecha – 6 meses Pesquera De Duero Red 3.2 Nice table wine – leave to breathe for 24 hours
Bodegas Vallarin Cosecha – 12 meses Pesquera De Duero Red 5.2 Really nice deep rich flavour – even better after 24 hours – the flavour change is reflected in the price.
Bodegas Vallerin – Vina Vallerin Pesquera De Duero Red 4.2 Really nice deep rich flavour – even better after 24 hours
Vega Cubillas – Roble Ribera del Duero Red 2.5 Good bottle for the money
370 Legias – Reserva Douro Douro Red 3.45 Excellent form when you open – full deep rich flavour
Real Batalha Encostas d’aire- 2011 Cooperativa de Batalha Red 2.8 Nice table wine – leave to breathe for 24 hours
Batalha Real – 55 Anos (2014) Cooperativa de Batalha Red 3.6 Nice full flavour
Valminor Valminor White 7.95 Fresh and crisp – lovely bottle of white
Tonoxol Tinto Valminor Red 5 We have had better for the price
