Fenugreek, chilli and apple relish – Prashad

Ingredients

  • 25g fenugreek seeds, coarsely crushed
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • ¼ tsp asafetida
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp coarse chilli powder
  • 25ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 large Bramley apple, chopped into 2cm cubes

Method

Mix the fenugreek, turmeric, asafetida, salt chilli powder and oil together in a medium bowl, rubbing the spices between your fingers and thumbs to work all the spices together.  Then use a spoon to stir in the chopped apple.

You can serve this straight away or store it in an airtight container in the fridge for a day or two.  The longer you leave it, the softer the apple becomes.
